How do I upload a financial document and check the extracted details?

Short answer:Open Add a document, upload a supported PDF or photo and choose the pages to process. Review AI permission and the available allowance, then check the extracted details before saving. Uploading alone does not make the information accurate or share it with family.

Choose the document and pages

Start with a readable copy of the document you want to organise. Avoid sending unrelated pages or unnecessary sensitive information. The capture screen shows supported file types and limits.

After uploading, use the page preview to select the pages needed for review. If a file combines several accounts or policies, check that the selection relates to the record you intend to create.

Review permission before processing

Read the processing permission and allowance shown on the screen. AI processing can send the selected material to an external provider and uses the shared AI allowance. It may be unavailable when permission, feature availability or allowance prevents processing.

A stored attachment or a paper-location note is different from a processed document. Attaching a file does not mean that its text has been extracted or can be explained by the assistant.

Check what was found

Compare the proposed details with the original page. Correct mistakes and leave unclear information unresolved rather than guessing.

  • Check names, institution, account or policy reference and record type.
  • Distinguish premiums, balances, sum assured and other amounts.
  • Check dates, units, payment frequency and whether information is current.
  • Review nomination details against the document; do not treat extraction as institutional verification.
  • Check for an existing record before adding another copy of the same asset.

Save, then decide separately what to share

Save only after reviewing the details. Check the saved record and any supporting document in the appropriate section.

Family sharing is a separate action. Select the record fields and each original document explicitly; uploading or saving does not automatically grant access to a contact or nominee.

Related questions answered

Can I rely on the extracted details without checking them?

No. Extraction can misread text or associate an amount with the wrong field. Review against the source and confirm important information with the institution when needed.
